Boat painting is one of the best ways to protect your investment
Most boat owners include boat painting as one of their yearly services and there’s a good reason why. Even the newest boats need repainting every year to fight against water blisters that form in the fiberglass, resist marine growth and more.
We recommend contacting us before your boat is pulled out. This way we can make sure we are available and onsite to get an accurate assessment of your boat’s condition. Water blisters can disappear a few days after a boat is out of the water, spider cracks might be harder to see later, etc. But, they will reappear as soon as returned to the water so don’t be fooled they aren’t there! Having us view your hull as soon as it’s pulled out will also help us determine the proper schedule and needs for your boat painting.
BOAT BOTTOM PAINTING
Your choice of boat bottom paint depends on the use of your boat including frequency and water environment, (salt vs. freshwater), color choice and desired level of maintenance. Talk to us about the difference in bottom paints, barrier coating and more. As a detailing boat and boat painter, we’ve seen all types of different conditions and boating painting needs.
BARRIER COATING
Barrier coating is part of a complete boat painting service.
The application of barrier coating will increase paint adhesion, add an extra layer against blistering and add to the overall value. As a full-service boat painter, we always want to complete every job properly and this means not skipping any steps including necessary layers and work.
Coppercoating
Copper coating is one of the many options we offer for boat painting. This is an investment that will last for a number of years and add life to your boat. Copper coating is an asset if you:
- Have purchased a new boat with an unpainted bottom
- Are planning to keep your boat for at least 4 years
- Would like to avoid annual boat painting
- Interested in having minimal in-water maintenance
Gelcoat Painting
A step up from traditional painting and usually only on a case-by-case basis. Your boat originally had a gelcoat layer after manufacturing. Maintaining this gelcoat will upkeep your boat as it was made to be. Gelcoat is not limited to just the hull and should be part of a regular maintenance if your boat is constantly in the sun.
- Resists cracking and flaking
- More UV protection
- Stability against chemical vapors
- Long-lasting durability
Marine Paint
Marine paint is urethane paint manufactured for marine use and another way to discourage marine growth. Often used for graphics and other high-color needs.
- Most color options
- Showroom shine
- Quicker job time
BOAT VARNISHING
Wooden boats are a beautiful way to honor the golden age of boating.
Whether antique or new, wooden boats need constant upkeep to maintain their beauty and integrity. At Garcia Boat Detailing, we offer a number of different varnishing servicing depending on your boat. We’ll be happy to work with you to find the look and schedule for you.
PROP SPEED PAINTING
Prop speed paint is an anti-fouling paint that helps repel marine growth.
By creating a slick coating your boat will experience increased fuel efficiency and speed. Also, barnacles, weeds and more will not be able to attach to your propellers and running gear.
